Christ Is King: Election Day Encouragements and Exhortations
Election Day may determine leaders, but Christ alone is King. His sovereignty challenges us to look past slogans and political cycles, anchoring our lives in His truth and reign. Before
The transgender movement, which has taken hold in our nation, arises from an identity crisis in which people seek to define their own nature based on their subjective sense of sexuality and self-perception. This leads to a strong sense of false identity that at times, is carried out so far as to include physical destruction of the body. For many, any thought of that identity being changed so as to align with God’s creative and redeeming purpose in Christ seems impossible. Yet the God who creates is also the God who re-creates. He is the God who is able to take what we are in sin and make it what we were.
The ητε Project is a missionary effort to reach transgender-identifying people with the gospel by specifically seeking them out for evangelism, extending true community and hospitality to them, and encouraging and equipping other churches to do the same.
ητε (pronounced ēte) is the Greek word translated to English were or you were. Here in 1 Corinthians 6, Paul uses this simple word to indicate the profound change that God works in a person when the Holy Spirit enters into him. The glory of the gospel is that no matter how deeply sinful a person is, that person is not beyond the transformative and forgiving power of God. Christ makes us new creatures, He changes us from the inside out so that we can properly say that we once were slaves to sin, but now are forgiven sons of God made righteous. No person is beyond the transformative work of the Holy Spirit. It is this conviction that animates The ητε Project. The spirit we hope to approach this ministry with is that described by Paul in 1 Thessalonians:
But though we had already suffered and been shamefully treated at Philippi, as you know, we had boldness in our God to declare to you the gospel of God in the midst of much conflict. For our appeal does not spring from error or impurity or any attempt to deceive, but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel of God, so we speak, not to please man, but to please God who tests our hearts. For we never came with words of flattery, as you know, nor with a pretext for greed—God is witness. Nor did we seek glory from people, whether from you or from others, though we could have made demands as apostles of Christ. But we were gentle among you, like a nursing mother taking care of her own children. So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.-1 Thessalonians 2:2-8
Transgender identifying people (TIP) are the most obviously lost and desperate people in our culture and are the most consistent adherents of the Creator-denying religion that has taken over our nation. It makes sense to specifically seek them out with the gospel.
It may be part of God’s purpose to use the mass conversion of TIP in answering the church’s prayer to bring reformation and revival. Many in this movement are under demonic influence, are desperate for identity, and are devoted to their beliefs. If God changes them, they will be incredibly zealous.
Only the plain gospel can possibly fully deliver anyone from this false religion. We must be devoted to bringing it to them with clarity, boldness, and truth, not downplaying the sin of transgenderism without any affirmation of the false identity or pronoun deception.
We must be radical in demonstrating sacrificial love, building relationships, showing hospitality, and seeking to understand lost individuals as individuals. This does not simply mean being nice or becoming friends and hoping for a chance to give the gospel later, but rather reaching them through genuine compassion, truth, and community.
In an age of confusion, the church should be a beacon of clarity. The world’s attempt to subvert the gender binary is perhaps the most destructive example of the moral chaos of our day, and Christians must be equipped to clearly oppose it. The Beauty of the Binary provides Christians with a thorough biblical defense of the necessity of male and female distinctions. Readers will finish confident in their ability to give an answer for God’s good design for gender.

In this volume Luke Griffo presents the hope and redemption available for all those who find themselves in the mire of transgenderism. He not only faithfully presents the goodness of the natural order and the grace of the gospel of Jesus Christ, but also captures their inherent beauty and wonder. Griffo has a heart for seeing the American church activated toward the task of reaching the millions who believe the lies and practice the sins that surround transgenderism. This book is therefore a guide for the self-described transgender who has come to the end of himself or herself in those sins, as well as a framework for the Christian who seeks to understand and address these matters in our day.
